Archconfraternity of St Stephen
Those who serve Mass throughout the world often belong to the Archconfraternity of St. Stephen, which serves as a standard for the practical and spiritual elements required to serve at the altar for the Holy Sacrifice.
Donations to the ACSS assist with materials, training, and publication of documents that are sent to various chapels of the SSPX throughout the world for the betterment of those who serve Our Lord.
The Guild aims through a three-fold object to sanctify the altar server by:
- teaching him that to serve in the sanctuary is a great religious privilege,
- instructing him how to observe the rites and ceremonies according to the Church,
- encouraging him to understand the significance and purpose of the ceremonies in which he serves.
Many indulgences have been given by St. Pius X for the members of the Guild.
